5 Signs Your eLearning Content Needs a Refresh
If your training is helping people fall asleep faster than it’s helping them learn, there's a problem.
Bored learners don’t change behaviour, retain knowledge, or deliver results. And if that sounds like what’s happening in your organisation, it could be a sign your eLearning content needs a refresh.
Great training should do more than tick boxes. It should inspire learners, equip them with knowledge they’ll remember, and empower them to apply it in the real world. If your courses aren’t doing that, it’s time to take a closer look.
Here are five red flags to look out for:
1. Your content looks dated
Design matters more than many people think. Today’s learners are surrounded by sleek, modern digital experiences, so when your training looks like a recycled PowerPoint deck, it instantly feels outdated. A dated design not only hurts engagement, it can also damage how your brand is perceived. Learners should feel like the training they’re taking is an extension of your organisation: polished, professional, and on brand.
2. Learners aren’t engaging
If completion rates are low or learners are forgetting key takeaways, it might not be their attention span that’s at fault, it could be the format. Engagement comes from variety and interactivity. Content that is static, text-heavy, or overly linear leaves little room for learners to interact, reflect, or apply knowledge. The best eLearning invites participation through scenarios, quizzes, and practical challenges, keeping learners active rather than passive.
3. Your business has evolved, but your training hasn’t
Businesses don’t stand still. Processes change, products are updated, and priorities shift. But if your training is still teaching yesterday’s way of doing things, it’s actively holding your people back. Training should be a living, evolving resource that adapts to your organisation’s needs. Out-of-date content not only wastes time but can also create confusion and mistakes. Aligning learning with current strategy and processes ensures employees are equipped to deliver real impact.
4. It drags on too long
Modern learners are used to consuming information in short bursts. Long, lecture-style courses are a quick way to lose them. Bite-sized learning, often called microlearning, is proven to boost both retention and completion rates. Shorter modules fit naturally into the flow of work, making it easier for employees to apply what they’ve learned straight away. The result? Training that sticks.
5. There’s no clear goal
Every training programme should answer one question: What is in this for me? When there’s no clear purpose, learners feel like they’re completing training just to tick a box, and that’s when engagement drops. Clearly defined goals give learners context, motivation, and a sense of progress. For organisations, it also means results can be measured and tied back to business outcomes.
If any of these warning signs sound familiar, it’s time to move beyond an update and commit to a real eLearning content refresh.
Refreshing your eLearning isn’t just about giving it a facelift, it’s about delivering training that truly works.
- ✅ Modern design improves user experience and strengthens your brand.
- ✅ Short, focused modules help learners retain and apply knowledge.
- ✅ Alignment with business goals ensures training drives measurable results.
If any of these warning signs sound familiar, it’s time to move beyond an update and commit to a real eLearning content refresh.
The result? Training that engages learners, delivers value, and makes a lasting impact.

Why AI Avatars Could Be the Game-Changer Your Business Needs
When it comes to creating training, marketing, or internal communication videos, one truth remains: people connect with people.
Whether it’s a friendly face explaining a process, a confident presenter introducing a product, or a reassuring voice guiding learners through a scenario, a human touch makes your message stick.
Traditionally, that human touch meant scheduling time, booking studios, arranging lighting, filming days… and crossing your fingers that you wouldn’t need to re-shoot if something changed.
That’s where Colossyan’s AI avatars change the game.

Colossyan avatars give you the feel of speaking directly to a person, without the time, cost, or logistics of hiring a presenter. The avatars look natural, engage the viewer, and can deliver your content in multiple languages, perfect for global teams or diverse audiences.
How can we help?
For many businesses, the hardest part isn’t the technology, it’s knowing how to use it well. That’s where we come in.
At GuyKat, we help you get set up with Colossyan, guiding you from your very first video to a fully scalable content strategy. We don’t just hand over the technology, we help you make the most of it.
That includes:
- Opening animations and branding to make your videos instantly recognisable.
- Script and scene planning so you can deliver a clear, engaging message.
- Consulting Workshops to align Colossyan with your learning goals and set up for success.
- Branded Hype Video to generate excitement and encourage adoption of your new content.

Still stuck for ideas?
Let us turn your training into scenario-based learning!
This style of learning puts the viewer in a realistic situation and lets them explore different outcomes based on their choices, making the training more immersive and impactful. With avatars, these scenarios feel more human and relatable, but remain easy to update when policies, products, or processes change.

Faster, Smarter Translations: The AI and Human Formula
July 30, 2025Blogcontent,AI,translations,language,localisation
Ever wondered about the secret to faster, smarter translations?

If you’ve ever dined out abroad, you’ve probably found yourself relying on AI to quickly check menu items and order your dinner. It’s fast, convenient… and sometimes, a little risky. Because, with dodgy auto-translate, speed isn’t everything especially, if you hate prawns.
That’s exactly why, at GuyKat, we take a smarter approach to translation and localisation.
How we use AI and native speakers to localise learning faster
When it comes to translating training content, guesswork shouldn’t be part of the experience. Our approach blends AI for speed, native speakers for quality and an expert at GuyKat to put it all together for you.
At GuyKat, we’ve seen firsthand how AI can supercharge the localisation process, cutting weeks of turnaround time and unlocking scalable global rollouts. This got us talking about how to keep localisation fast without compromising on quality.
The GuyKat Localisation Process
We know translation isn’t just about swapping words from one language to another. It’s about meaning, tone, and context, especially when you’re training global teams. That’s why we’ve built a process that gets the best of both worlds.
Here’s how it works:
- Translate with AI: We use industry-leading tools to generate rapid first-pass translations. This means we can localise entire eLearning modules in minutes, not days. It’s scalable, efficient, and consistent.
- Check with Native Speakers: Then comes the important part, the human review. We work with skilled linguists who are not only fluent in your chosen language but, where required, also specialise in your subject matter, ensuring accurate, context-aware translations that resonate with your audience. So crucially, they could check whether your dinner suggestion accidentally includes prawns.
- Perfect Delivery: Once approved, unlike many translation providers, we implement the translations ourselves. That means we maintain the design integrity, interactivity, and functionality of your learning content so every learner, in every language, gets the same high-quality experience.
It’s a process that’s shaved weeks off our delivery timelines and made rolling out content to multiple markets smoother than ever.

The result? Faster, smarter translations.
Translated content in days, not months, and learners are getting content that feels native to them with no awkward phrasing or misunderstanding.
We handle the entire process end-to-end, no matter the type of training or language. The learning experience is fully replicated and accessible to each learner. Plus, no surprise prawns.

A Platform That Works for Everyone
July 15, 2025BlogGuyKat,Docebo,social learning,learning,UX/UI,case study,development,communities,Nord Anglia Education
How Nord Anglia Transformed Learning with GuyKat
Nord Anglia Education is a premium international school group with over 80 schools in 33 countries. They believe outstanding teachers make outstanding schools and that means investing heavily in the professional development of their staff.
To deliver a world-class education, Nord Anglia needed a scalable, intuitive learning platform that could grow alongside their global organisation. With a strong emphasis on collaboration and continuous development, they turned to Docebo and to GuyKat to make it happen.
What was the challenge?
As Nord Anglia Education grew, so did its library of onboarding and training content. But with so many users, from teachers to administrators, learners were struggling to find the resources relevant to them. Engagement was inconsistent, and the platform needed a smarter structure to support their goals.

Our Solution: Designed for Scale, Built for People
1. A Smarter Navigation System
We developed a custom drop-down mega menu using HTML and CSS, giving users the ability to filter content by school, topic, or type.
2. Custom Templates for Flexibility
We created branded, easy-to-edit widget templates, complete with detailed documentation and training. This meant any admin could maintain and update the platform independently.
3. A true social learning space
With a clear strategy to support Docebo Communities, we gave learners across continents the opportunity to connect, share knowledge, and support each other. This evolved from a content repository into a true social learning space.
What was the impact?
All these changes helped boost user engagement from just 20% to an incredible 94% post-launch.
The transformation has already delivered measurable impact, from time saved on admin tasks to significantly higher learner engagement. And this is just the beginning. With plans to integrate Docebo with their HR platform, Nord Anglia Education is preparing for a fully personalised learning journey aligned with career progression.
“GuyKat supports us to make our platform fly.”
— Vicky Wheeldon, Learning Experience Designer, Nord Anglia Education
Why did it work?
At the heart of this transformation was true collaboration. Nord Anglia’s team brought curiosity, clarity, and commitment to the project, working closely with us to create a platform that truly meets their learners’ needs.
“It’s been a wonderful partnership because we can talk openly about what we need and get to the bottom of it… they suggest what has worked elsewhere and support us.”
— Julia Gallois, Learning Experience Designer, Nord Anglia Education
We believe great learning experiences don’t happen by accident, they are designed with purpose. That’s why we’re proud of what we’ve achieved with Nord Anglia, and why we’re excited to keep helping organisations around the world make learning more accessible, effective, and engaging.

Life on the GuyKat Graduate Scheme: Oliver’s Journey into Platform Enablement
👨🎓 Meet Oliver Perrett 👨🎓 We caught up with Oliver Perrett, who recently completed the GuyKat Graduate Programme, to reflect on his experience.
Can you tell us about your role at GuyKat and how your journey began?
I joined GuyKat in June 2024 as part of the Graduate Scheme. My first rotation was with the PET team (Platform Enablement Team), which gave me a solid introduction to the Docebo learning platform and the tools we use to support clients. It also helped me understand how the company works from the inside out. For my second rotation, I moved into Platform Consulting, which has felt like a natural next step. I’ve been able to contribute to larger LMS implementation projects, taking what I learned in PET and applying it directly to client-facing work. In my last rotation, I was part of the UX/UI team, which specialises in bespoke design utilising HTML and CSS customisation to improve the user experience of your Docebo.
What was your experience like on the Graduate Scheme?
It was fantastic! One of the things I value most is how varied the experience is. I really appreciated the opportunity to explore different areas of the business and gain experience along the way. One of the highlights has been the people and the atmosphere; everyone has been incredibly friendly and approachable from the start, and it’s clear they genuinely care about your growth as an individual. There’s a great balance here between trusting you with meaningful, challenging work and providing the support you need as someone new to the role.
What inspired you to apply for the Graduate Scheme at GuyKat?
I was really drawn to GuyKat after reading their job advert. It stood out from the many others I came across because it genuinely emphasised learning, personal growth, and a passion for technology, which really suited me. I also appreciated how open and collaborative the company sounded, with a culture where people are eager to share their expertise and equally willing to listen, regardless of your level of experience. It felt like the kind of environment that I would enjoy being a part of.
What were you doing before joining GuyKat?
Before joining GuyKat, I completed a computer science degree at the University of Birmingham as part of an apprenticeship with another company. While I loved my time at uni, I wasn’t entirely sure what I wanted to do next, which is why GuyKat stood out. It offered the chance to explore different areas professionally rather than being locked into a specific role.
What stood out to you about working at GuyKat?
For me, it was all about the company culture. In my previous experience at a larger, more traditional company, I often felt overlooked and struggled to build meaningful connections at work. That experience made me realise how important the right environment is for me, and since joining GuyKat, I’ve been enjoying work so much more.
How did you find the application and interview process?
The application and interview process felt natural. I’d been job hunting for a while and was starting to feel frustrated with the lack of progress, with so many applications either having long delays or no response at all. GuyKat was completely different. The process was quick, and the communication throughout was great, which I really appreciated. This was my first interview since finishing uni, so I was pretty nervous, but everyone was so supportive and understanding, which made the experience much easier.
What do you enjoy most about your current role?
The people I get to work. Everyone puts in so much effort to make sure you feel seen and part of the team. I haven’t had anything close to a negative experience, and I honestly don’t see that changing anytime soon, which allows me to focus on learning and doing the work I enjoy.
How have you grown since joining GuyKat?
There’s so much I’ve gained since joining GuyKat. Personally, I’ve grown a lot in confidence. I’ve always been quite reserved, and in the past, I’d hesitate to ask for help or clarification, which often led to wasting time trying to figure things out on my own. Being here has pushed me to step out of that comfort zone, and I’ve realised how valuable it is to ask questions or admit when I need something explained again. Professionally, I’ve picked up loads of technical skills around configuring an LMS and have also improved in working with and communicating with clients.
What advice would you give someone considering the GuyKat Graduate Scheme?
My advice would be, just go for it! Don’t worry too much about your background or experience; what matters most is whether it feels like a place where you'd want to work. In your cover letter, make sure to explain why you're applying and be your authentic self. If you’re someone who loves learning and wants to be part of a team that’s passionate about that, you’re a great fit. Just be sure to show that enthusiasm throughout the application process!
Want to join our team?
At GuyKat, we’ve built a Graduate Scheme that helps you to find your path in learning technologies.
You’ll gain real experience, work with supportive people, and develop skills that will shape your future.

A Smarter Way to Train Docebo Admins

Docebo admin training for Merz Aesthetics
Who are Merz Aesthetics?
Merz Aesthetics is a global healthcare company with a rich history of over 110 years, still run by the same family today. Merz prioritises purpose over profit, focusing on supporting healthcare professionals through education and insights. Their goal is to equip experts with the latest clinical practices to deliver trusted results.
We’ve had the privilege of supporting the development of Merz’s customer learning platform, MAX Merz Aesthetics Exchange, on Docebo. This platform was created to be an unparalleled resource for their expert customers, grounded in trusted, science-based aesthetics.
The Need for Scalable Docebo Admin Training
As the global rollout of MAX across multiple languages neared completion, Merz identified a critical next step: upskilling the internal employees who would manage and maintain the platform in their roles as Power Users and Superadmins.
Traditionally, this kind of admin training is delivered through live sessions, either via calls with platform specialists or in person, where employees gather together to walk through the Docebo features. But with increasingly remote workforces and the challenge of retaining large amounts of information in just a couple of days, this approach posed clear limitations.
GuyKat’s Custom Docebo Training Solution
To solve this, we proposed to create bespoke, on-demand training modules tailored to Merz’s unique Docebo setup. The strategy was simple but powerful, pairing our Platform Consultants with our Instructional Designers to produce relevant, engaging training content.
Together, we developed a structure that broke down the complexity of the platform into 13 shorter, focused modules. These were designed to be digestible, easy to revisit, and directly aligned with real-life tasks Merz admins perform regularly.
Designed for Clarity, Built for Learners
Each module followed three core principles:
- Visually engaging and on-brand, using Merz’s design language, to make the content feel familiar and accessible
- Task-based and practical, featuring real platform screenshots and walkthrough videos to guide learners through the more complex processes
- Modular and flexible, allowing admins to learn at their own pace and revisit content whenever they need it
Future-Proof and Ready to Scale
Crucially, this learning solution was built with the future in mind.
The modules are easy to update as the platform evolves, and the structure supports localisation for other languages, setting the stage for global consistency and reach.
By blending platform knowledge with expert learning design, we created something that goes beyond documentation, it’s a sustainable, engaging way to build long-term capability.
We’re proud of what we’ve built with Merz and excited to create more tailored training solutions for our Docebo clients. After all, great learning isn’t just about delivering information, it's about making it accessible, memorable, and built to last.

Speaker Session Recap: How Leading Brands Win with Docebo!
April 14, 2025BlogDocebo,Docebo Inspire,case studies,maximising Docebo,client stories
Last week, GuyKat was yet again proud to be platinum sponsors of Docebo Inspire 2025! This year’s event was bolder than ever, and it was great to see so many of our clients in person and to meet some new inspired Docebo customers.
Our CEO, Guy McEvoy hosted the fantastic speaker session “We All Love a Good Story: How Leading Brands Win with Docebo“. Where we learnt how some of the biggest bands partnered with GuyKat to maximise their Docebo investment. With insights from our esteemed panelists Devo’n Williams – Director, Franchisee Onboarding & Training at Firehouse Subs, Claire Meisinger – Senior Manager of Global Professional Relations and Education at Merz Aesthetics , and Jessica Lunan – Senior Customer Content Manager at Bullhorn, the session provided a wealth of knowledge and valuable takeaways for organisations looking to build impactful learning programs.
Couldn’t make it to our speaker session? Don’t worry, in this blog post we’ll recap the success stories of these very different use cases all using Docebo in a way that fosters engagement, efficiency and growth.
The stories behind the success.

1. Merz Aesthetics: Creating an Engaging, Science-Based, Educational Platform
Merz Aesthetics is a leading global provider of innovative aesthetic treatments and solutions. They are committed to providing healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively use Merz Aesthetics products and deliver safe, high-quality aesthetic treatments.
Recognising the untapped potential of their existing online educational platform, Merz Aesthetics sought an eLearning solution that could embody their brand identity, ensure compliance with regulatory standards in every market and allow them to connect with their customers on another level. That’s why they invested in Docebo, a platform that could grow with their customer education needs.
Our work with Merz Aesthetics demonstrates how a well-executed learning strategy can amplify customer engagement. With a goal of creating an unparalleled resource for their expert customers, grounded in trusted, science-based aesthetics, Merz Aesthetics partnered with GuyKat to create an efficient and personalised platform.
Through bespoke page builds and custom software solutions, GuyKat played a pivotal role in every aspect of their platform’s build. We ensured a successful Salesforce Integration via Docebo Connect, that enabled seamless data flow between systems and enhanced user experience. Personalisation of the platform was further enhanced through bespoke page builds that feature interactive carousels and navigation aids that empower their learners to engage with training materials more effectively, fostering greater knowledge retention and improving performance across the board.
You can read more about the work we did with Merz Aesthetics to support the recent launch of their modern, scalable platform Merz Aesthetics Exchange (MAX) in our case study!

2. Firehouse Subs: Streamlining Onboarding Across a Global Brand Portfolio
Firehouse Subs is a beloved restaurant chain known for its signature sandwiches and dedication to supporting emergency services. They are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth, but they faced the challenge of creating a platform that would provide a consistent yet customisable experience across RBI’s diverse brands while staying true to their own branding and culture. They aimed to implement a structured, interactive learning approach to boost engagement and streamline onboarding for new starters across all restaurant locations.
Working closely with Firehouse Subs, GuyKat designed intuitive, brand-aligned custom homepages that were fully mobile-responsive and accessible through the Docebo mobile app. This design showcased relevant content, simplified content delivery, and ensured learning could take place anytime, anywhere to accommodate the schedule of Firehouse Subs employees. The platform was customised to ensure easy navigation, providing quick access to compliance training and essential resources like training documents, operational manuals, and role-specific courses.
The impact of this transformation has been substantial, with training completions increasing from 26% to 85% in just six months! Firehouse Subs’ success in employee development highlights the power of a tailored learning strategy, and importance of prioritising innovation and user experience. We’re excited to continue supporting their growth and mission to deliver a dynamic and enriching learning experience for all employees with ongoing platform enhancements

3. Bullhorn: A Seamless Learning Experience Across Audiences
As a leading provider of cloud-based recruitment and staffing solutions, innovation is at the heart of everything Bullhorn does. With over 10,000 staffing and recruitment companies worldwide, it was crucial to centralise their learning resources and provide a scalable, user-friendly platform that could cater to the unique needs of their diverse audiences.
Recognising the importance of professional UX/UI expertise in bringing their space vision to life, Bullhorn sought a partnership with Docebo experts. GuyKat played a pivotal role in Bullhorn’s successful Docebo implementation, through developing tailored homepages personalised towards specific audiences and by ensuring ease of use and long-term manageability of the platform.
Together, we created an engaging, intuitive, personalised and sustainable learning platform. Within the first month of launching, Bullhorn reported impressive results, with a total of 675 internal course enrolments and 3930 customer enrolments! Beyond enrolment numbers, Bullhorn has also received very positive feedback from their learners, and they are thrilled to see this widespread engagement.
Through their Docebo implementation journey, Bullhorn learned that a combination of strong, user-centric design with intuitive functionality is essential to creating a sustainable learning platform that users will engage with regularly. This was achieved through a strong partnership with Guykat that ensured ongoing support during implementation and the development of a well-planned UX/UI strategy.
