GuyKat Announces UK Launch of Microlearning White Paper

GuyKat is excited to be exhibiting at Learning Technologies on the 31 January and 1 February in London. The event will be marked with the UK launch of our white paper ‘The Inevitable Rise of Microlearning in the Workplace’. Originally released in the US in September, the updated British-English version includes insights into the importance of microlearning, the business risks and benefits it may pose and the steps organisations should take to implement a successful microlearning strategy.

GuyKat believe that microlearning, otherwise known as bitesize learning, will become an ever more significant part of the workplace learning mix. Technological innovations are allowing organisations and their employees to share knowledge in more targeted and efficient manners. As the millennial ‘youtube’ generation progress, so the expectations of digital learning content, instant accessibility, and succinct delivery will increase. Our white paper shows how the changing mindset and expectations of the workforce, coupled with the thinking behind the 70:20:10 theoretical learning model, make a compelling case for ambitious organisations to build a microlearning strategy into their people development planning.

To find out more about all the issues raised in the GuyKat white paper, visit our stand U8 at Learning Technologies 2018 in London to pick up a copy. We will be updating you with more news ahead of the event so stay connected via our Twitter or LinkedIn

Guy, CEO of GuyKat:

“It was quite something to be surrounded by so many of Docebo’s clients from all over the world. They all use the system for slightly different purposes but the common theme was their enthusiasm for the tool.  I feel lucky to have been at the birth of this great new community.  I look forward to future events.”

David, eLearning Consultant:

“Docebo Inspire was a great event. It was really exciting to meet so many people in the industry who are using Docebo and find out about their specific projects - there are so many different use cases!”.

It was a truly inspiring event allowing L&D professionals to attend sessions and talks from key speakers, including Claudio Erba, the CEO of Docebo. Some of the topics discussed included microlearning and the future landscape of learning. GuyKat in South Africa

This week GuyKat CEO, Guy McEvoy, visited South Africa.  He met with commercial and social entrepreneurs from the township of Khayelitsha, including Nomvano Mbathiso (pictured) who runs the Try Again F.C. club which aims to use football to keep young men out of gangs.

Guy said; "It's been an eye opening week. South Africa is a beautiful country with so much going for it. The wealth inequality is a shock though. It's given me a lot to think about in terms of the different challenges entrepreneurs face here both in accessing finance and clearing bureaucratic hurdles in order to grow. I'm also struck by how digital learning technology could help people here leap-frog some of these issues. That's something I'll be thinking about on my return."

His trip was hosted by Stellenbosch University and the program put together by Aston Business School, an institution which GuyKat is proud to enjoy close ties.

GuyKat Support Veterans Football

As in previous years, GuyKat were proud to provide support for the 'Everton Vets' team in this year's "WorldNet Big Tam Veterans Trophy" held in Nottingham. The 'boys' made a great effort to defend the trophy they won last year, however, after eight games spread over two days, they narrowly lost one-nil to a team from Bury in the final. GuyKat CEO, Guy McEvoy, said; "People should still be able to enjoy playing competitive sport past their mid-thirties. It's great to see a properly organised competition for gentlemen of a certain age. The team were unlucky not keep hold of the trophy, but I know they'll be back next year, and we'll continue to support them."
