Docebo Harmony Search AI assistant helping learners find training in an LMS

Docebo AI Harmony Search Will Do Everything for You?

"Docebo AI Harmony Search Will Do Everything for You?”

Let’s Talk About That.

PEACE, LOVE, & HARMONY

Docebo Harmony Search explained: What does it really mean for L&D teams?

‘Upheaval’; the word is being thrown around a lot in the world of Learning & Development. An upheaval tends to result in an evolved landscape, but they aren’t always fun to live through. Revolutions drive progress, but they're chaotic; the AI revolution is no different.

In the midst of this, what we need is a moment of calm. An oasis of serenity. A sense of Harmony.

Harmony Search is Docebo’s intelligent assistant capable of drastically reducing the amount of administrative overhead involved in running a training platform. Harmony Search is young, but even in this early stage of its evolution, it offers a look at how AI can (and will) transform the way human beings interact with their training environment.

Here at GuyKat, we’re eager to provide some tips on how to maximize its impact.

How can you get the most out of Harmony Search?

After a decade in L&D, I know directing learners to required material can be an uphill battle. Training platforms often become tick-box exercises, forcing learners to need direct links to exactly what they must complete. Creating a platform for self-sufficient exploration is a devious challenge.

Part of the problem lies in how search systems have worked historically. Many platforms rely on simple keyword searches that depend on exact titles or metadata. If a learner doesn’t know the precise wording of a course, finding the right training can become frustrating.

Harmony changes this approach to a more conversational AI interface. Learners can ask questions naturally. Harmony then analyses the meaning behind the question and searches across the learning content available on the platform.

Video transcriptions and parsed Elearning material powers its responses to direct learners towards the training most relevant to their query. Harmony endeavours to understand why a learner is asking about a topic, and curates its suggestions based on its understanding of all the learning content available to the learner.

Harmony Search allows the learner to type in their question or statement and receive curated replies based on training content:

Alternatively, the ‘Ask Harmony’ feature provides conversational answers, summarising information drawn from the platform’s learning content while linking directly to relevant training materials.

After experiencing this kind of search, traditional keyword-based systems can feel surprisingly limited.

Harmony is powerful, if you design for it

However - In the construction of the Docebo platform, Harmony is here as an assistant, not the architect. While Harmony introduces powerful AI capabilities, it doesn’t remove the need for good platform management; in fact, the opposite is true.

Earlier I mentioned that Harmony curates its responses based on its understanding of content available to the learner; either from content learners are currently enrolled in, or from all training that is available to them within the platform. In both cases, the quality of the responses depends heavily on how well the learning content has been maintained. You’ll need to ensure the content is accessible to learners if they’re going to benefit from Harmony’s great big AI brain.

Outdated courses, duplicate materials, or inconsistent metadata can all create confusion for AI-driven recommendations.

In other words, AI won’t fix bad configuration. But GuyKat can!

Preparing your Docebo to make the most of Harmony

Harmony is a deeply impressive leap into the evolution of L&D platforms. But we can’t just switch it on and let it do all the work; it needs us to build the platform on which it stands.

Harmony can generate answers based on general knowledge when it cannot find relevant information within the platform itself. Administrators can choose whether to allow this behaviour or restrict Harmony to responding only with information drawn directly from platform content.

  • Allowing general knowledge responses can make Harmony feel more flexible and helpful when learners ask broader questions.
  • Restricting responses to platform content ensures that answers always remain grounded in your organisation’s official training materials.

Fortunately, Harmony comes with a ‘Preview’ mode which can be activated just for the Superadmins on the platform; meaning the top-level Administrators can test out the new AI functionalities without learners being impacted. For many organisations, this testing phase becomes an opportunity to review the health of the learning platform as a whole.

Docebo is clearly committed to thoughtful AI integration. These training platform evolutions are designed to accelerate the human experience, not replace it. Though it’s a time of change, have no fear; GuyKat will help L&D embrace this new paradigm.

Harmony Search is only the start, AI is integrating everywhere, and for professional development, it's an opportunity, an ally, a friend, not a threat.

AI translations are good enough, just press translate – but are they?

“AI translations are good enough, just press translate”

It sounds efficient. But is it enough?

AI has transformed how we handle multilingual content. The speed is impressive and the accessibility is powerful. What once took weeks can now take minutes. But treating translation as a “click and forget” task is risky.

Accurate translation isn’t just about correct grammar or spelling. It’s about meaning, tone and cultural connection.

AI translation doesn’t solve localisation

It is a common mistake to use 'translation' and 'localisation' interchangeably, but they serve very different purposes:

  • Translation is the direct, word-for-word replication of a piece of text.
  • Localisation is making that translation fit contextually while maintaining the integrity of mnemonics, acronyms, and cultural relevance.

Localisation requires more than translation. What feels appropriate in one country may feel tone-deaf in another. What is legally compliant in one region may be entirely different or even non-compliant elsewhere. Tone varies wildly across borders. Some cultures prefer a more laid-back, informal approach to learning, while in others, formality is everything.

AI might translate the words, but only a native speaker can ensure the message is conveyed with the appropriate respect and impact.

Illustration of a professional working at a desk with on-screen translation icons and text about accurate translation focusing on meaning, tone and cultural connection.

AI often misses the mark in a professional context

AI struggles to convey brand voice and often fails to grasp the nuance required for sensitive workplace topics.

Translation engines can occasionally lose the thread of technical context with devastating results.

In one instance, a translation engine replaced the term for a Brachial vein with the Basilic vein. In a medical training context, an uncorrected error like that could lead to life-threatening mistakes in physician training.

A phrase that works perfectly in English can fall flat (or worse, offend!) in another language. Idioms don’t always travel. Humour rarely translates cleanly. Brand voice can easily become diluted.

At GuyKat, a human review sits at the heart of the process

At GuyKat we are always looking to improve and make use of new technologies.

As such have moved from the old, manual and slow way of working to the much quicker AI supported method:

  • We spend time ensuring that spelling, grammar and tone are correct in the original content to set translation up for success. Post-editing (PEMT) is still essential for every piece of content, so we ensure a human editor reviews each localisation to give you the best of both worlds, retaining the tone of voice and consistent terminology throughout. Because translation quality doesn’t start at the end, it starts at the source.
  • We build robust translation memory and termbases. AI can then tap into previously approved content, ensuring terminology remains consistent across modules, updates and markets.
  • We always quality assure the localised contentBecause learners in Germany, France or the US shouldn’t have a different experience simply because of language. The standard should be identical.

AI might help us move faster but human expertise ensures we never compromise on quality.

Why AI Avatars Could Be the Game-Changer Your Business Needs

Why AI Avatars Could Be the Game-Changer Your Business Needs

When it comes to creating training, marketing, or internal communication videos, one truth remains: people connect with people.

Whether it’s a friendly face explaining a process, a confident presenter introducing a product, or a reassuring voice guiding learners through a scenario, a human touch makes your message stick.

Traditionally, that human touch meant scheduling time, booking studios, arranging lighting, filming days… and crossing your fingers that you wouldn’t need to re-shoot if something changed.

That’s where Colossyan’s AI avatars change the game.

An image showcasing the potential of AI avatars. On a dark blue background, the text "That's where AI avatars change the game" is displayed next to a collage of sixteen headshots of people, representing the variety and human-like quality of AI avatars.

Colossyan avatars give you the feel of speaking directly to a person, without the time, cost, or logistics of hiring a presenter. The avatars look natural, engage the viewer, and can deliver your content in multiple languages, perfect for global teams or diverse audiences.

How can we help?

For many businesses, the hardest part isn’t the technology, it’s knowing how to use it well. That’s where we come in.

At GuyKat, we help you get set up with Colossyan, guiding you from your very first video to a fully scalable content strategy. We don’t just hand over the technology, we help you make the most of it.

That includes:

  1. Opening animations and branding to make your videos instantly recognisable.
  2. Script and scene planning so you can deliver a clear, engaging message.
  3. Consulting Workshops to align Colossyan with your learning goals and set up for success.
  4. Branded Hype Video to generate excitement and encourage adoption of your new content.

Still stuck for ideas?

Let us turn your training into scenario-based learning!

This style of learning puts the viewer in a realistic situation and lets them explore different outcomes based on their choices, making the training more immersive and impactful. With avatars, these scenarios feel more human and relatable, but remain easy to update when policies, products, or processes change.

Faster, Smarter Translations: The AI and Human Formula

Ever wondered about the secret to faster, smarter translations?

If you’ve ever dined out abroad, you’ve probably found yourself relying on AI to quickly check menu items and order your dinner. It’s fast, convenient… and sometimes, a little risky. Because, with dodgy auto-translate, speed isn’t everything especially, if you hate prawns.

That’s exactly why, at GuyKat, we take a smarter approach to translation and localisation.

How we use AI and native speakers to localise learning faster

When it comes to translating training content, guesswork shouldn’t be part of the experience. Our approach blends AI for speed, native speakers for quality and an expert at GuyKat to put it all together for you.

At GuyKat, we’ve seen firsthand how AI can supercharge the localisation process, cutting weeks of turnaround time and unlocking scalable global rollouts. This got us talking about how to keep localisation fast without compromising on quality.

The GuyKat Localisation Process

We know translation isn’t just about swapping words from one language to another. It’s about meaning, tone, and context, especially when you’re training global teams. That’s why we’ve built a process that gets the best of both worlds.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Translate with AI: We use industry-leading tools to generate rapid first-pass translations. This means we can localise entire eLearning modules in minutes, not days. It’s scalable, efficient, and consistent.
  2. Check with Native Speakers: Then comes the important part, the human review. We work with skilled linguists who are not only fluent in your chosen language but, where required, also specialise in your subject matter, ensuring accurate, context-aware translations that resonate with your audience. So crucially, they could check whether your dinner suggestion accidentally includes prawns.
  3. Perfect Delivery: Once approved, unlike many translation providers, we implement the translations ourselves. That means we maintain the design integrity, interactivity, and functionality of your learning content so every learner, in every language, gets the same high-quality experience.

It’s a process that’s shaved weeks off our delivery timelines and made rolling out content to multiple markets smoother than ever.

The result? Faster, smarter translations.

Translated content in days, not months, and learners are getting content that feels native to them with no awkward phrasing or misunderstanding.

We handle the entire process end-to-end, no matter the type of training or language. The learning experience is fully replicated and accessible to each learner. Plus, no surprise prawns.
