GuyKat founder, Guy McEvoy, to continue as Midlands Export Champion

GuyKat is delighted to announce that CEO, Guy McEvoy, is continuing his support of SME’s as a Midlands Export Champion. This will be the third year the Department for International Trade (DIT) have enlisted Guy into the cohort. 

Founded in 2009, GuyKat has products and provides services in over 100 countries. This makes Guy an experienced champion, specialising in North American and European markets. 

Speaking about the champion scheme at the Summit in Birmingham, International Trade Minister Mark Garnier said:

“We want to use the momentum of the Midlands Engine to drive this region’s exports to new heights … My department is helping even more companies in the region explore opportunities on the global market and through this Programme local business will truly benefit from a range of expert advice from local business leaders.”

Key figures and opportunities:

  • The Midlands contributes over £200bn to the UK’s GVA each year.
  • In 2020/21, the Midlands Engine attracted 217 foreign direct investment projects.
  • In 2021, the Midlands goods exports were £45.5 billion.
